AP Senior Recital - Ames, Iowa - May 2026

We are in a uniquely wonderful position of knowing some of the most amazing young people in the world. Not to brag on our kids, but they're pretty spectacular. And the kids of our closest friends are also just exceptional. This is why it's been such a blessing to know AP since she was in second grade. Watching her this year as a senior has been so inspiring and bittersweet; these last few weeks of her senior year are especially incredible to watch. I've been super-lucky to get to come to the dress rehearsal of her dance recitals the past few years, including this year. The special thing about this year is that she had a solo as a senior - I'd seen it at a dance competition, so I knew how incredible it was, so I was really lucky to get to take some photos.

She looks so focused and elegant!

Pretty sure I'd be stuck on a heating pad for a month if I tried that pose!

The toe and finger points!

Celebrating the seniors!

I loved some in black-and-white - because what doesn't look incredible in B&W?

I loved the drama in this one! It needed B&W.

Dancers in frilly tutus gracefully perform on stage, captured in black and white. Legs in pointe shoes emphasize elegance and movement.
AP isn't even in this one, but I loved the motion of those tutus.

My name is Angie.  I find normal to be largely boring.  I am really lucky to get to spend time behind my camera doing all kinds of fun things, and also super-really annoying my kids by taking a million photos of them.
