Bushmills, North of Ireland - Giant's Causeway (Part 3) - August 2025

Last group of photos from our tour of Belfast, Dunluce Castle, and Giant's Causeway! In case anyone wanted the link for the tour again, HERE it is. It really was a great daytrip. If you get motion sickness, I'd say it was a moderate amount - not nearly as bad as our later trip to the west side of Ireland.

Anyway - behold the magic of the Causeway! I did remove a few people here and there on some of the images - I'd really recommend trying to get there very first thing in the morning or at the very end of the day, if you can. We sort of went in the thick of the day. But the good news is I made friends with a bunch of ISU and KSU fans on the little tram on the way back to the bus as Jon took a hike. (I'd stuck around at the Causeway to get more photos.)

Rocky shoreline with hexagonal basalt columns by the sea, under a cloudy sky. Calm water with reflections visible between rocks.
This little puddle-y thing was my favorite.

Two people stand on hexagonal basalt columns by the sea; one points outward while the other crouches. Overcast sky and rocky terrain.
This lady very gingerly scaling this pile of rocks is my kind of naturalist.

The Causeway just kind of begs for a panoramic photo.

The ground isn't the only area with the rocks everywhere.
Rocky cliffs with unique hexagonal basalt columns on either side form a narrow path leading to a distant ocean under a cloudy sky.
It's just so Irish-looking.

White two-story Causeway Hotel with black trim and chimneys. People walking along a curved path with bushes in front under a cloudy sky.
The Causeway Hotel was gorgeous inside. It had a dining room and some little tea areas.

My name is Angie.  I find normal to be largely boring.  I am really lucky to get to spend time behind my camera doing all kinds of fun things, and also super-really annoying my kids by taking a million photos of them.
