Photo Backlog - A and C - October 2015

I took the kids out to grab some photos both at my mom's building where she is a professor at the local college, as well as in the front yard of our old house - our little cul-de-sac always looks aflame in the fall. The kids had a lot of fun during both shoots, which was great.

Two children play joyfully in fallen autumn leaves. One wears a white sweater, the other a navy cardigan. A tree and brick building in background.
I absolutely adore the look on both kids' faces in this photo - A especially. It's not anything super special as a photo, but I love it as a mom.

A smiling child with curly hair and glasses in a blue cardigan stands on autumn leaves in front of a tree and brick building.
The girl is just the sweetest. Look at that joy!

I love this photo of C, too. He just looks HAPPY with his bald baby little self.

An omnipresent struggle I have is A's photos, and how to reduce flares and reflections. She has the most expressive, lovely eyes, so I always want to show them.

Toddler in blue shirt touches tree with red leaves, focused expression. Background of vibrant orange foliage and blurred house.
That little sort of rat-tail back there on the back of C's head got longer and longer as the months went by, while the rest of his head stayed pretty sparse so far as hair went. We called it his duckbill and it made us smile. He's here in our old front yard.

I believe my friend Chris made this my profile pic on his website, Photography139, several years ago. He does a really fun Weekly Photo Contest where there's a different theme each week. This was for a week when the theme was "Faceless Portrait." If you enjoy taking your own photos, it's a really fun thing to do each week - check it out!

Baby in a white sweater sits among colorful autumn leaves, holding a stick. The background has scattered trees, creating a cozy, warm scene.
Just a toddler in a cardigan hitting things with a stick.

My name is Angie.  I find normal to be largely boring.  I am really lucky to get to spend time behind my camera doing all kinds of fun things, and also super-really annoying my kids by taking a million photos of them.
